Flower Festival - Congratulations to Esther Simpson and her colleagues who provided a magnificent flower Festival in the church recently. The three-day festival, which was the first ever held in St Mary's Church, raised more than £1200.

Archaeology - The Archaeology Group has now completed its third annual report which provides details of the work of the group since March 2002.

D-Day Plus 60 anniversary - There will be an exhibition in the village hall on June 5 and 6 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of D-Day. It will be open from 12 noon to 5pm. All proceeds will go to St Michael's Hospice. Info line: 01544 388226

Village Farewells - Mrs Janet Suter and Mrs Pat Smith, longstanding residents of the village have recently moved away. They were both very active members of many organisations and social groups and were members of families which had been prominent in the village over a period extending back nearly 100 years.

Parish Council - Peter Davenport was re-elected chairman for the coming year and Mrs Serena Askew was elected vice chair. Thanks were extended to Maryann Hanson for her many years of service as parish clerk and she was presented with a gift voucher as a leaving present. The new clerk, Mrs Deborah Watts was introduced.
