ANNUAL MEETING - At the annual meeting of Kingstone and Thruxton on May 5, the parish council chairman explained the need to make Health and Safety improvements to the village hall and highlighted the council's grant towards the new changing facilities at the Seven Site sports ground. It had been brought to the council's attention that the village Green Bag Distribution Scheme had come to an end and if anyone is interested in continuing this service to the village they should approach one of the councillors or the parish clerk.
Other matters brought to the council included: local traffic reaction to the traffic calming the speed reduction scheme outside the schools, the vandalised waste bin near Coldstone Cross, a blocked ditch near Arkstone Court and the provision of a directional sign to the village hall. The next meeting of the council will be held in the village hall on Tuesday, June 15.
