VISITORS to Herefordshire can enjoy all the flavours of days gone by as an historic 17th century farmhouse opens its doors to the public this weekend.

Cwmmau farmhouse at Brilley will be on show to history lovers who can enjoy light refreshments in traditional surroundings, as well as a guided tour from the National Trust's archaeological advisor, Jeremy Milln.

Property manager David Hughes said: "Cwmmau farmhouse is unique in that it is both a holiday cottage and a visitor attraction.

"Standards throughout the house are very high and these reflect the unique character and historic qualities of the building.

"The 17th century black and white timber framed farmhouse is a special place. It shows the development of an estate from the 17th century to the present day with many original features and buildings unaltered."
