THE postponement of the Royal Wedding has done nothing to dampen the excitement of two farming families invited from Herefordshire.

It means they can have two days in London and take time to go and see the musical Billy Elliot.

The lucky couples are Alan and Ginny Lilwall, from Aconbury Court, and Mike and Sally Price of Monkhall Farm, Dewsall, who are tenant farmers on the Duchy of Cornwall's 12,000-acre estate in the county.

Both received invitations from the Lord Chancellor's office to join 750 guests at the dedication service for Prince Charles and his new wife, who is to take the title the Duchess of Cornwall, in St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle and the reception afterwards.

Alan, who has met the Prince and once entertained him to tea at his home at Aconbury, said he and his wife Ginny considered it a privilege to be invited, and to represent other tenants of the Duchy.

At Monkhall, Sally said her family had been connected to the Duchy for many years, being tenants in the Vale of Glamorgan before coming to Herefordshire in 2001.

Both couples said they were not inconvenienced by the last minute change in the wedding plans and would make the most of the occasion.

Prince Charles has invited representatives of many of the charities with which he is involved to be present in the precincts of Windsor Castle for the event. Among them are four from Hereford Cathedral Perpetual Trust, of which he is a patron, Glyn Morgan, Diane Court, representing her husband Terry Court, and Doug and Mandy Burgoyne.
