PARISH COUNCIL - At the last meeting of Clehonger Parish Council held at Clehonger Primary School on March 10 Mr Graham Hurley who is responsible for bus shelters in Herefordshire spoke regarding the locations and designs of bus shelters.

The location of a bus shelter in Croft Road was discussed Mr Hurley showed a map of the site and said that they were proposing to site the shelter on the corner of Croft Road opposite Allways. Councillor Williams suggested cutting into hedge, as there is an emergency exit gate on corner. The location of a bus shelter at Belmont Road was discussed and it was decided that this would be inbound.

Mr King, Deputy Head of Kingstone High School had written to say that approx. 70 students travel from Clehonger to Kingstone High School each day with the vast majority using the bus service. As for students using bikes and walking, clearly the road is not safe to do so and he would not encourage students to use these methods of travelling to school. The school has just completed a travel survey and he has included a copy. Clerk was asked to write to the LEA to see if they would review the situation.

Councillor Hammond commented that the daffodils are now coming up and the Parish Council wished to thank Clehonger Youth Club for their hard working in planting the daffodil bulbs.

Councillor Barclay reported that following the pavement from the Seven Stars towards the village there was a lot of rubbish. Clerk to report this to Lengthsman.

Councillor Hitchiner requested that the black and white bollards at Dunan be cleaned. Clerk to ask the Lengthsman to carry out this work.

The next meeting of the Parish Council will be held tonight (Thursday, May 12) at 7.15pm at Innesfield Community Centre. As always, members of the public are very welcome to attend.
