BUS SERVICE CHANGES – Herefordshire Council is considering changes to bus routes 672/673, Bromyard to Ledbury via Bishops Frome, and the 676 from Fromes Hill to Ledbury. In respect of the 672/673, those journeys that carry children from Bishops Frome to John Masefield High School are being considered for withdrawal due to their cost. Remaining journeys may be reduced or diverted to cover for other withdrawn services and the Saturday service will be withdrawn. It is suggested that the 676 could face a reduced specification and there are two options being considered, both of which will result in the withdrawal of the service between Fromes Hill and Wellington. There is a consultation period until April 10. Comments should be sent to the parish clerk at the Old School House, Burley Gate.

LENT LUNCHES – There will be a Lent lunch at Moorend, Castle Frome, from noon till 2pm tomorrow (Friday), when the chosen charity will be Rescue Greyhound. This is a change from details previously published.

BINGO – There will be a bingo session at the village centre on Monday, March 23, in aid of Cancer Research. Doors open at 7pm, with eyes down at 8pm.

PARISH COUNCIL – At the March meeting, councillors agreed to give financial support in the form of grants or loans to the churches at Bishops Frome and Fromes Hill, the new village shop and the community access point. They also agreed to support plans to make the Fromes Hill church more accessible and to turn it into more of a community centre. Following complaints about misuse of the Fromes Hill telephone kiosk, it was agreed that BT should be asked to remove it and that litter bins should be requested to take its place.

COFFEE MORNING – There will be a coffee morning at the village centre from 10am till noon tomorrow (Friday). Everyone is welcome.

POSTAL COLLECTIONS – Until such time as the village is supplied with a new post box, there will be a daily mail collection from the community shop at the rear of the village centre.
