THE village of Lea enjoyed the biggest August Bank Holiday show in its 64-year history with a record number of visitors attending.

As well as the good weather, visitors were able to enjoy horse shows and parades, circus antics, dog classes, machinery demonstrations and a variety of classes in the flower, vegetable and craft show.

There was also a sheepdog and duck demonstration by the Runner Pack from Pembrokeshire.

Rose Savidge, general show secretary, said: “It went really well. It was a record at the gates and we took £1,000 more than last year.”

Other events in the main ring included a Shire horse parade, a cage bird show and a gymkhana.

The money raised from the event will be distributed among local organisations and charities.

Lea School won the Cornage cup for the first year for its entry into the seaside themed art competition with Weston-under-Penyard School.
