FREQUENT flooding on a Herefordshire main road has been blamed on a broken drain.
The A465 just outside of Stoke Lacy, on the Bromyard side of the village, has been regularly hit by flooding in the last year, with a large amount of water gathering on the carriageway outside Crossfield Cottage.

Now, draft minutes from a recent meeting of Stoke Lacy Parish Council reveal, the cause of the flooding has been found.
In an update to councillors, parish councillor James Wilson said the issue has been caused by a broken drain under the rod, with the resultant flooding "presenting a danger to road users during heavy rain".

Councillor Wilson has reported the problem to Herefordshire Council, which has inspected and acknowledged the defect and will repair it, the minutes said.
Flooding has hit roads across Herefordshire in recent weeks, with heavy flooding causing chaos last week.
A number of spots on the A465 between Hereford and Bromyard are regularly affected by flooding including the A4103 junction near Hereford, and Crick's Green, between Stoke Lacy and Bromyard.
