A HEREFORD man was caught in possession of class A drugs with intent to sell them, a court has heard.

Matthew Hayward entered a guilty plea when he appeared before magistrates in Hereford.

The court heard the 36-year-old had been caught in possession of a quantity of cocaine with the intention of supplying it in Hereford on September 19. He was caught out while driving his Mercedes in Wallis Avenue.

Prosecutor Thomas Wickstead said the matter fell outside of the magistrates' sentencing powers as it was too serious an offence.

Hayward, of Charles Witts Avenue, Hereford, will appear before Worcester Crown Court for sentencing, but a date has not yet been set.

He was also caught driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and without third party insurance on the same date.
