A storm which hit late on Friday afternoon (September 20) brought flooding chaos to Ross-on-Wye. The Morrisons supermarket was forced to close after rain caused two ceiling panels to "cave in".
The scene was dramatic through the evening and afternoon, with alarms sounding and staff members guarding the door and an entrance to the car park.
Previously, customers could not access part of the shop that sells greeting cards, bedding, glassware, stationery, electrical goods, kitchen accessories, and toys and magazines. There were also seasonal Halloween decorations and costumes in the closed aisle.
A sign was put up to alert customers to the closure, saying: "Please bear with us. We're sorry for any disruption whilst we complete essential repairs."
The gaps in the roof have been covered with material which is taped to the ceiling, with more tape believed to have been added today.
