A TEENAGE driver fled the scene after hitting another car with his VW Golf at a Herefordshire petrol station, a court has heard.

Charlie Ballinger, 18, admitted driving in a public place without due care and attention, driving in a public place without third-party insurance, failing to stop after an accident and failing to report that accident, when he appeared before magistrates in Worcester.

Ballinger crashed his VW Golf into a Vauxhall Astra at Bennetts of Ross, a petrol station in Wilton on the outskirts of Ross-on-Wye, before driving off on February 24, prosecutor David Whittaker said.

Ballinger was found to have been driving without due care and attention, and with no third-party insurance.
