A HEREFORDSHIRE attacker who assaulted a man in Hereford has been handed a restraining order.
Gerald Smith, 57, of Meadow Drive, Credenhill, was found guilty of one count of assaulting a person thereby occasioning them actual bodily harm.
The court heard from prosecutor Paul John that he had attacked and hurt another man on February 18 last year.
He was found guilty and sentenced in a trial on September 16 at Hereford Magistrates’ Court where he was handed a restraining order banning him from contacting the victim in any way, as well as a £525 fine.

He is not allowed to contact the victim directly or indirectly “by any means whatsoever”.
Smith was also ordered to pay £200 in compensation to the victim, £630 in prosecution costs and a £210 victim surcharge, which helps fund services supporting victims of crime.
Smith, who was represented in court by defence solicitor Marilena Di Vitantonio, must make payment to the court in monthly instalments.
