A HOMELESS man from Hereford who stole a bottle of alcohol has been handed a community order with rehabilitation activities.
Hazara Bhakar, 61, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to one count of theft from a shop, one count of failing to comply with a community protection notice and one count of failing to answer to court bail as soon as practicable.
He was sentenced on September 6 at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court where he was ordered to complete 12 months of alcohol rehabilitation, with up to 25 days of treatment, as part of an 18-month community order.

His guilty pleas were taken into account by magistrates imposing the sentence.
Bhakar stole the bottle of alcohol from Savers in Hereford on June 30, and broke a community protection notice which prohibited him from consuming alcohol or possessing unsealed containers of alcohol in a public place. He then failed to attend a court hearing in Hereford on September 4.
Bhakar was fined £40 for the breach of the community protection notice and must pay a further £85 in court costs.
