I CERTAINLY believe there are roads in and around the city that would benefit from a 20mph speed limit and speed bumps (Letters, September 5).

In particular Kempton Avenue at Bobblestock is regularly used as a rat-run, where motorists cut through from the A4103 Roman Road to Grandstand Road and Three Elms and on to Whitecross and Trinity schools and vice versa to avoid the busy traffic lights at the junction of the Roman Road and Three Elms Road.

The speed these vehicles travel at is a cause for concern to the local residents with at least three accidents reported along the stretch caused by excessive speed.
Neighbours unanimously agree that traffic calming measures and a mobile speed camera would pay for itself in a very short time, create income for the council, and reduce the risk of more serious accidents.
