IT is almost amusing, but certainly ironic, that Herefordshire Council is now having to argue against so many houses demanded in the Government’s new target list (Shock at plans for even more houses in Herefordshire, August 12)

They had willingly embraced the previous target, whilst many of us had argued, at length, that they were already excessive, and damaging, to the iconic countryside that we all so greatly value.
