A VW Golf driver has been banned from the roads after a crash on the A49 in Herefordshire.
Daniel Matthews entered a guilty plea to one count of driving a motor vehicle while over the alcohol limit when he appeared at Hereford Magistrates' Court earlier this month.
The court heard from prosecutor Thomas Wickstead that the 22-year-old defendant had been caught out drink-driving after he was involved in a crash on the A49 in Moreton-on-Lugg on July 2.
Matthews was found to have 81 microgrammes (mg) of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, exceeding the legal limit which is 35 mg.

No one was seriously injured in the crash.
Matthews was said to be a "man of good character" with defence solicitor Matt Lewis saying: "This is likely to be Mr Matthews' one and only appearance before magistrates."
Matthews, of Upper Lyde, was banned from driving for 18 months and fined £500. He must also pay a £200 victim surcharge and court costs of £85.
