A WEATHER warning is in force for Herefordshire, with thunderstorms threatened.
The Met Office weather warning for thunderstorms is in force until 11.59pm today, September 2.
Forecasters at the Met Office said areas of heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue to affect parts of the UK.
"The extent of these thunderstorms is uncertain and, whilst many places will miss them, some places may see 30 to 40 mm of rain fall in less than an hour and perhaps over 60-80 mm in one or two places," the Met Office said.
Forecasters warned that lightning strikes will be additional hazards. The greatest chance of impacts is across eastern Scotland this afternoon (before reducing this evening), as well as parts of Wales and the West Midlands, where the risk continues into the first part of Monday night.
What should I expect?
Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services, while power cuts and other service losses could also result.
The Met Office also said that spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures, while there is also a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds
