A CREW of firefighters were called out to rescue a small child from a locked car in Hereford.

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) rushed to Stonebow Road at 7.45pm on Friday (August 30).

A spokesperson said: "A HWFRS crew from Hereford was called at 7.45pm on August 30 to a minor release in Stonebow Road.

"A small child was locked in a car and access was gained using tools before parents and child were reunited. There were no casualties."

No other emergency services were called to the scene, and the child had been released by 8.30pm, the spokesperson said.

No details were given of how the child came to be locked in the car, or for how long they were trapped there.

Stonebow Road is a busy street in Hereford city centre that runs alongside Hereford County Hospital. The exact location of the incident was not given.
