A COFFEE shop is marking its last ever day of trading with half-price drinks.

Central Bakery's coffee shop in Leominster is closing tomorrow (August 31) and is offering 50 per cent off milkshakes and smoothies for customers sitting in or taking away.

The family-run bakery will remain open for another month, closing at the end of September.

Its owners announced the news of its closure via social media, saying: "It is with deep sadness that we announce that Central Bakery will be closing its doors for the final time at the end of September, with the coffee shop closing first in a few weeks' time.

“After nearly 70 years of trading as Central Bakery this decision has been a very difficult and emotional one.

"From three generations of the Burke family and a lot of loyal staff (some who have been there for most of their working lives) it has definitely not been an easy decision.”

The West Street bakery has been in business for three generations of the Burke family, with local people having expressed their sadness about its upcoming closure.
