A WOMAN has been knocked over by a car in Hereford city centre.
Emergency services were called to Blackfriars Street, near Hereford's Old Market shopping centre and football ground, just before 1pm today (August 30).
A police spokesperson said: "We received a call with a report of a collision between a car and a pedestrian in Blackfriars Street. The female pedestrian has been taken to the QE Hospital in Birmingham with injuries. Officers remain at the scene to establish the circumstances and manage traffic."
There is tape blocking off part of Blackfriars Street, with three police cars parked near the Premier Inn.
In an earlier statement given at 1.30pm, the spokesperson said: "Police are currently at the scene of a serious collision in Blackfriars Street in Hereford. The road is closed at Widemarsh Street. Please seek alternative routes. Thank you for your patience."
