A THIEF has admitted stealing a pregnancy test, alcohol and more from shops in Herefordshire.

Jessica Hardy entered guilty pleas to five counts of theft from a shop when she appeared before magistrates last month.

Hereford Magistrates’ Court heard from prosecutor Camila Toscano that the 32-year-old, who was represented at the hearing by defence solicitor Chris Read, had stolen a pregnancy test, alcohol, energy drinks, cheese, chocolate and deodorant worth at least £78.09 from Leominster’s Aldi and Co-Op, and Hereford’s Superdrug and Asda between April 23 and May 5.

She began by taking two bottles of wine from Aldi on April 23, then a can of deodorant and a pregnancy test from Superdrug the following day. Six days later, she took two energy drinks, cheese, hot food and cider from the Co-Op in Leominster. On May 1, she returned to Aldi and stole chocolates, ciders and other groceries and alcoholic drinks, then went to Asda on May 5 and stole two bottles of Smirnoff Ice and other groceries.

Hardy, of Grafton, was remanded on unconditional bail ahead of her sentencing at the end of this month.

The probation service has been ordered by magistrates to prepare a pre-sentence report ahead of her sentencing.
