THIS week I sent an email to the highways section of the council website to let them know that the speed indicator on the B4224 at Hampton Bishop was faulty. It was telling people that they were speeding at 35mph when the limit there is 40mph.
What are your thoughts?
You can send a letter to the editor to have your say by clicking here.
Letters should not exceed 250 words and local issues take precedence.
The next day I received a reply from Balfour Beatty that this wasn’t their problem and that I should take it up with another department or the parish council. They helpfully provided the email address to contact. What they didn’t do was just forward my message to the right people and get someone to improve the website so that it’s clear who deals with speed cameras.
Where is the joined-up thinking or the desire to fix the problem, rather waste my time and theirs sending such an unhelpful reply?
No wonder people want to see the back of Balfour Beatty!
