A DRINK-DRIVER has been handed a ban and a hefty fine after he was caught in Hereford while over the limit.
Atheesh Robi entered a guilty plea when he appeared before magistrates in Hereford on July 31.
The court heard from prosecutor Camila Toscano that the 30-year-old had been caught behind the wheel of a white Hyundai I20 near his home in Aylestone Hill in Hereford while over the limit on May 15.
An evidential breath test revealed he had 83 micrograms (mg) of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. This exceeded the limit, which is 35 mg.

Robi, of Aylestone Hill, Hereford, who was represented in court by Chris Read, was fined £400 and disqualified from driving for 19 months.
He has the opportunity to complete a drink-driving awareness course by August 17 next year which would reduce his ban by 19 weeks.
He must also pay costs of £85 and a £160 victim surcharge.
