A KNIFEMAN has appeared in court after an incident in a Herefordshire garden where he threatened another man.
Paul Worgan was charged with threatening a person with an offensive weapon or bladed article in a private place. He entered a guilty plea when he appeared at Hereford Magistrates’ Court in July.
The 52-year-old, of River View, Ross-on-Wye, had threatened another man with a tactical combat knife in a communal garden near his home on January 31, according to prosecuting solicitor Camila Toscano of the West Midlands Crown Prosecution Service.
There was said to have been an immediate risk of serious physical harm to the victim.
The case was sent to Worcester Crown Court for sentencing, and he will appear before a judge on August 28.
A pre-sentence report has been ordered to be prepared by the probation service.
Worgan, who was represented in magistrates’ court by defence solicitor Matthew Lewis of the law firm Coulson Read Lewis, was released on unconditional bail ahead of his sentencing hearing later this month.
