A VAN driver from Hereford has been banned from the roads after using cannabis and getting behind the wheel.
Ross Holand admitted drug-driving when he appeared before Hereford magistrates.
Holand was driving a Ford Transit van in Belmont Road, Hereford, on December 30 last year when he was caught out, prosecutor Camila Toscano said.
Holand provided a blood test to test for class B drug cannabis. The evidential test revealed he had 4.7 micrograms of cannabis product delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol per litre of blood. The legal limit is two.
The 25-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence and this was taken into account by magistrates imposing the penalty. But they had no choice but to impose a driving disqualification, as all drivers convicted of drug-driving are banned.
Holand, of Merestone Road, Hereford, was disqualified from driving for three years and fined £120 for the drug-driving offence.
He must also pay costs of £85 and a £48 victim surcharge.
