A JAGUAR driver has been banned from driving after he was caught under the influence of alcohol in a Herefordshire town.
Dirmeikis Zydrunas entered a guilty plea to one count of driving while over the alcohol limit when he appeared before magistrates in Hereford in July.
The court heard from prosecutor Camila Toscano that the 54-year-old, who was represented at the hearing by defence solicitor Chris Read, had been caught in Ross-on-Wye’s Station Street after getting behind the wheel of a white Jaguar while over the drink-driving limit on May 25.
An evidential breath test revealed that he had 43 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 micrograms.
Zydrunas, of Station Street, Ross-on-Wye, was disqualified from driving for 12 months and fined £392 for the offence, with magistrates saying that they had taken his guilty plea into account.
He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £85 and a £157 victim surcharge.
