A MAN has appeared in court accused of rape after a reported incident in a Herefordshire town.
Police said they have received a report of a rape in the early hours of July 21 in Ross-on-Wye.
The incident is alleged to have happened around 3am between Three Crosses Road and Springfield Road.
Officers confirmed on July 22 that a man had been arrested on suspicion of rape, and it was announced on July 25 that he had been charged with one count of rape and one count of sexual assault.

Mustafa Ogur appeared before magistrates in Kidderminster on July 25 accused of the two charges.
The court heard from prosecutor Thomas Wickstead that the 23-year-old is accused of one count of raping a woman aged 16 years or over when she did not consent and when he did not reasonably believe she was consenting.
He is also accused of one count of sexual assaulting a woman.
The case was sent to Worcester Crown Court, where Ogur, of Brookend Street, Ross-on-Wye, will appear for a plea and trial preparation hearing on August 22.
Ogur has been remanded in custody.
