A sign placed by Welsh Water contractors Morrison Water Services says the road closure is due to water network maintenance and apologises for any inconvenience,.
However there are no planned roadworks listed for the street, and a large amount of water is leaking from under the tarmac.
It is far from the first time the road has been closed by water leaks, with a number of closures due to burst pipes beneath the tarmac in recent years.
Previous mains water bursts in the road have left homes in Bromyard and surrounding villages without water and the road closed or partially closed for days at a time.
