A few areas could see some 15 to 20 millimetres falling in less than an hour and perhaps as much as 30 to 40 mm in three or four hours, the Met Office said, although some places are likely to see smaller amounts.
Lightning may accompany some of the heavier rain, forecasters said, with the heavy rain set to slowly ease after dark.

What should I expect?
The Met Office said spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and possibly a few road closures.
There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings, the Met Office said.
Where flooding occurs, there is a slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services
