A POPULAR Herefordshire bakery says it is not closing yet.
In a Facebook post, Grange Court urged people to help save Central Bakery, adding that LARC Development Trust was hosting a public meeting at 7pm on November 28 to see if there was sufficient local support for the West Street venue.
However, in an update, Grange Court apologised for any confusion, saying that the bakery will remain open until the building is sold.
Central Bakery, which has been run by the same family for over 50 years, also clarified the situation.
It said a group of people have got together to consider buying the premises to start a bakery in Leominster to serve the community, adding that it has nothing to do with Central Bakery.

Why are these Herefordshire towns always the poor relations?
"The premises of Central Bakery at 6 West Street Leominster has been up for sale for over 12 months now," reads the post.
"This is due to a number of factor. From losing my dad, David Burke suddenly just before Covid, Covid, the ever increasing costs of ingredients (which have more than doubled in the last two years), the latest energy costs now doubling, and the fact the owners are wishing to move on to something different.
"The business property is still up for sale as it was over 12 months ago. We will still be here until such a time as the property is sold.
"A group of people have got together to consider buying the premises at 6 West Street to start a bakery in Leominster to serve the community. This is not anything to do with Central Bakery. This is a completely separate business but one that people feel there would be a need for when Central Bakery sells.
"I hope this clears up the misunderstanding of Central Bakery closing. We are here until such a day when it sells."
