FOLLOWING your report (Farm trailers: light up plea, October 12), could I extend the plea to tractors.

Given their size nowadays, they are difficult to pass on country lanes. The front often appears grey or black and the outline is not so clear-cut, especially when emerging from deep shadow.
It would be very helpful and safer if lights could be used whenever travelling on public roads.
