THIS year’s Viking-themed Wye Float was popular with all ages as people took to the water on everything from canoes and kayaks to blow-up unicorns and flamingos.

The Wye Float, which first took place in 2017, saw the people of Hereford float down the river Wye using inflatables, rafts, dinghies and more.

The festival opened at 9am on August 12 at Hereford Rugby Club with an exciting reenactment by the local Black Crow Vikings at 10am.

At 12pm, festivalgoers took their inflatables on the river, following a picturesque route past iconic Hereford landmarks including the cathedral.

Live music ran throughout the day, with Herefordshire rock band Call of the Kraken headlining. Street food, an outdoor bar and face-painting were also available. Some people even camped out overnight at the rugby club in tents, motor homes and caravans.
The festival raised money for the Herefordshire Veteran Support Centre to support veterans facing issues like loneliness and social isolation.
