THE only way to save Hereford centre and its shops and businesses is to lower parking charges, improve public transport, particularly bus services, or introduce park and ride centres, none of which is about to happen as our new majority Tory council will do nothing. Because that’s what Tories do – nothing.

The city’s future is a slow, painful death. Such improvements as there are, happening or planned, take too long, are badly managed and cost too much (not enough tendering).

The amount of wasted money is breathtaking, quite simply because it is not their money and is handed to them on a plate.
I really believe the majority of councillors and Plough Lane bureaucrats couldn’t care less and couldn’t run a bath! They talk too much, do very little and are mostly in it for themselves and for the fat salaries and pensions.
