TIKTOK star Stage Door Johnny is set to make an appearance in Herefordshire.

The TikTok comedian, who has over one million followers on the social media platform, will be entertaining crowds at the Reclaimed Hereford Comedy Takeover event later this month.

The show promises to be an evening of comedy, burlesque and cabaret featuring a range of performers including Stage Door Johnny, Nat Funni and Mahatma Kandi amongst others. The Richmond Place Club will be hosting the event on August 26.

The show will be presented by Reclaimed Hereford, who have been organising cabaret and burlesque shows which ‘champion diversity and inclusion’ since March 2022. Their events have proven a success, with a drag bingo night recently selling out, and so a large crowd is expected for the Herefordshire debut of Stage Door Johnny.

Tickets to Reclaimed Hereford Comedy Takeover cost £15 and are available from www.ticketsource.co.uk

Lindsay Mcglone, a spokesperson for Reclaimed Hereford, said that Reclaimed events “create space for those who don’t have space in Hereford” with a line-up of performers that are “always diverse”. The audience attracted to such events have been eclectic, but many of the attendees are united by a need to feel safe as themselves, she said.

Miss Mcglone said there has been a shift in the entertainment on offer in the county, with locals seeking out more drag and cabaret, and that venues hosting such events should “ensure diversity, honesty and integrity”.

“Inclusion needs to be done the right way,” she said.
