A BRITAIN’S Got Talent star, high-speed barrel racing, and classic American cars will all be coming to Herefordshire at the weekend.

Herefordshire ranch and equestrian centre Valley View Ranch in Ullingswick, will be hosting a three-day American Horse Festival this weekend from August 11 to August 13.

After many requests to hold open days the ranch, which specialises in American horses, the team has decided to welcome in the public by holding a festival celebrating all things USA with a local twist.

Horse shows will be running from Friday morning until Sunday afternoon, with the main spectator day on Saturday offering visitors the chance to see American miniature horses, American paint horses and quarter horses, with competitions run by British Reining and The Western Equestrian Society.

Exciting high-speed barrel racing and reining competitions set to music will also be running, with cowboy fancy-dress to be expected.

There will also be a variety of classic American cars on display, American music performed by local vocalist Andrew Marc from The Voice and Britain’s Got Talent and American line-dancing. Stalls run by local traders will offer visitors shopping opportunities and USA themed food will be available, including American Smoke BBQ, wood fired pizza, ice creams and a bar serving the ranch’s own blended cocktails and beer.

A healthy crowd is expected to attend the event and it is hoped that, should the festival be successful, it could become an annual affair.

Tickets for Saturday August 12 are £17.50 including free parking; children under 12 are free.
