A HEREFORD takeaway is offering free food for homeless people tonight (Thursday).

The Bridge Thai Street Food is celebrating six months of being open, and wanted to do something to mark the occasion.

The initiative will be available from 5.30pm to 8.30pm.

"Every two to three weeks a customer, who lost his job and house, comes to see me and asks if I can help and give him some food," said Kritsakorn Tangjaritsakul, who runs the takeaway.

OTHER NEWS:

"I thought I'd therefore do it for everybody. We have a lot of homeless people who come in, so I want to keep everyone happy."

The takeaway is open from 3pm to 9pm Mondays to Thursdays and Sundays, and from 12 noon to 11om on Friday and Saturdays.

The menu boasts stir fry dishes with a choice of tofu and vegetables, chicken, pork, seafood, fish, duck, prawn, or beef, seafood specials, a range of starters, dim sum, soups, salads, grills, noodle dishes, and curries.

The takeaway is housed in the former Jama's Kebab House, a much-loved takeaway owned by Jamal Haider, who sadly died in February 2022.
