AN OPENING date for the new service station under construction in Machynlleth has been confirmed.
Having been without a petrol station for the past few months, refuelling services will reportedly resume in the last week of July when the station is scheduled to be up and running.
Throughout May, owners Ascona have been providing regular updates on the progress of the site, with the fuel tanks being installed underground, canopy supports in place, pump cradles installed and a majority of the concrete pads placed down.

The concrete for the pads were delivered R.Keith Price Haulage LTD, ready for the pylons to hold the canopy to be erected.
Work on the building structure began on May 23, with Ascona stating that no delays are reported and that the project is still on track to open in July.
The rebuild is part of £3 million transformative redevelopment programme that aims to create 12 new jobs in the area.
Despite having been without fuel services since February, when the old Texaco building was demolished, Ascona state they are on scheduled to complete the new facility six months after work began.
Cllr Mike Williams said: “It can be inconvenient for the rebuild to be ongoing right now but I’m confident it will be more than worth it in the long run.
“Any organisation willing to invest £3 million in a new facility is clearly in it for the long haul, and with 12 new jobs on offer that definitely seems like a boost for the town.”
