A 32-YEAR-old man has admitted false imprisonment of a woman.

Jamie Ruff, of Hipkiss Gardens, Droitwich, appeared in the dock of Courtroom 1 at Worcester Crown Court on Tuesday, (May 30).

Ruff pleaded guilty to the offence when it was read to him by the court clerk.

The count he admitted says Ruff "unlawfully and injuriously imprisoned the victim, a woman, detaining her against her will".

The court heard Ruff committed the offence at his home on February 14 this year.

Prosecutor, Thomas Griffiths, said the offence was "unpleasant" and warranted a renewal of Ruff's bail which included the condition he must not contact the victim directly or indirectly.

Belinda Ariss, defending, asked for the case to be adjourned for a report adding Ruff suffered from anxiety and mental health issues with Recorder John Benson KC agreeing to this request.

Recorder Benson told Ruff to return to the court for his sentencing on June 26 adding the fact he was adjourning should not be taken as a promise Ruff would avoid prison.

The judge also renewed Ruff's conditional bail warning any breaches could see him punished further.
