AN ATTACKER has been handed a conditional discharge after assaulting a man in a Hereford incident.

Charlotte Cotterell entered a guilty plea to one count of assault by beating when she appeared before magistrates in Hereford in May.

The court heard from Crown Prosecution Service prosecutor Mark Hambling that the 24-year-old, who was represented at the hearing by defence solicitor Emma Thorne, had assaulted a man by beating him in an incident in Belmont, Hereford, on January 20.

Cotterell, of Belmont Road, Hereford, was handed a 12-month conditional discharge, with magistrates saying that they had taken her guilty plea into account when coming to their decision.

She was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £135 and a £26 victim surcharge, which is used to help fund services supporting victims of crime.
