BY happy chance the patient participation group at Kington Medical Practice hired the community shop for the first week in May, which coincided with the coronation.
How magnificently they demonstrated their ability to make a difference!
The whole team, ably coordinated by Suzanne Hughes, worked extremely hard and raised the splendid sum of £1,600.
Our thanks are due to all those who donated money or items for sale and especially to Arrow Plant Hire who paid the hire cost of the community shop.

Money donated to the patient fund of the PPG has been used to benefit patients in a number of ways, including purchasing portable oxygen concentrators which proved to be literally lifesaving in the early days of the Covid pandemic, supporting social prescribing initiatives, such as the singing for health group, and purchasing specialist equipment requested by clinicians and agreed by the PPG.
Recently equipment which is helpful in the diagnosis and treatment of asthma has been purchased.
We, the patients of Kington Medical Practice, are extremely fortunate in having such a hard working PPG who give so generously of their time to support us all.
Thank you!
KAY BIRCHLEY
Kington, former chair of Kington PPG
