The court heard from prosecutor Mark Hambling that the 40-year-old had sent multiple emails which conveyed a message that was indecent or offensive for the purpose of causing distress or anxiety to the recipient or any other person in Hereford between January 20 and February 10.

Price, who was represented at the hearing by defence solicitor George Cousins and who is of Manor Fields, Burghill, was handed a 12-month conditional discharge for the offence, with magistrates saying they had taken his guilty plea into account when making their decision.

He was ordered to pay prosecution costs of £185 and a £26 victim surcharge, which is used to help fund services supporting victims of crime.
