Machynlleth Carnival is filling up the last few spaces in its planned 5k Colour Run being held to raise money for the event.

Taking place on Sunday, June 11, the Machynlleth event will be much more colourful and vibrant than a typical 5k run.

A Colour Run is an event in which colour powder gets sprayed on participants throughout the run, usually at each kilometre marker or spaced out evenly through the course.

Runners, who are dressed in white, will get increasingly covered in radiant shades of pink, blue, yellow and other eye-catching colours the further along the route they get.

The organisers are expecting a mix of amateur and expert runners, with all ages welcome for the 5k event, funds from which will go towards the 2023 Machynlleth Carnival.

Machynlleth’s Colour Run will start at 11am from Y Plas, with the route taking runners through the hurricanes, the rugby and football pitch, then through the Plas grounds.

Organisers have also stated that anyone who isn’t participating is welcome to be spectators, whose role is to throw colour onto the runners as they pass. Bags of colour powers will be available on the football grounds and at the Plas.

Machynlleth carnival will be held on July 29.
