A MAN was seriously injured after a crash involving his e-bike near Hereford yesterday (Monday).

The 60-year-old was riding a green Trek electric assisted pedal cycle along Burghill Lane when the crash happened at around 9.35am.

He was taken to Hereford County Hospital in a life-threatening condition.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 9.32am on Monday to a road traffic collision involving a cyclist in Burghill, Hereford. Two ambulances, a paramedic officer, two BASICS emergency doctors and the Midland Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene.

"Upon arrival we found a man who was the cyclist. He was assessed by ambulance staff and had sustained life threatening injuries. He received treatment at the scene before being conveyed to Hereford County Hospital by land ambulance for further assessment.”

A road closure was put in place on the C1103 in Burghill from the junction of the Hereford to Tillington road to near the village church, with it eventually reopening at around 3pm.
