AFTER Jeremy Hunt’s recent budget both Herefordshire MPs extolled its virtues and how wonderful it would be for the county.
Now we learn that, among the hidden clauses, from August 1 cider producers will be banned from selling takeaway draught cider and perry.

This will be a disaster for small cider makers, who have been such a positive feature of the local economy over the last few years. Much of their output relies on draught sales at their premises and at food festivals.
We risk losing dynamic firms and even more orchards being grubbed up.
I hope the two MPs will use their columns in this paper to explain what they are doing to reverse this stupid idea.
