AN AUDI driver clocked at 26 miles per hour over the speed limit has been fined by a court.

Jonathan Trevor Peter Bow of Credenhill, Herefordshire, entered a guilty plea to one count of exceeding a 60 miles per hour speed limit on a single carriageway road to magistrates in Llanelli.

The court heard from the prosecutor that the 49-year-old had been caught breaking the limit behind the wheel of an Audi Q3 in a 60 miles per hour zone on the A477 Llanddowror bypass in Carmarthenshire on September 25.

He had been caught out on manned camera equipment travelling at 86 miles per hour, the court heard from Dyfed-Powys police, meaning he was travelling at 26 miles an hour over the speed limit.

Bow was fined £80 and received five penalty points for the offence, with magistrates saying that they had taken his guilty plea into account when deciding on the penalty.

He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £90 and a £32 victim surcharge, which is used to help fund services supporting victims of crime.
