A BRITISH music icon who lives in Herefordshire will be performing a DJ set at a popular Worcester pub later this week.

Bez, from the rock band Happy Mondays will be visiting The Firefly, in Lowesmoor, on Saturday, March 25, to celebrate the pub's 18th birthday.

The appearance from Bez, who lives in Herefordshire near the Welsh border, was confirmed on the pub's social media page, promoting the event.

The post said: "18 years feels worth celebrating especially after the last few years and how things been recently. Let's Party."

Bez is most famous for being a percussionist and dancer for Happy Mondays, and has since gone on to do various DJ sets and media appearances.

The Happy Mondays were formed in Salford back in 1980 and went on to achieve to UK top 10 charting songs and a UK top 10 album.

The post from The Firefly also teased some special beers made with different brewing companies which will be available to purchase at the pub.

There will also be a warm-up DJ set from Glasshouse Brewery in Birmingham and Revolution DJ's will also be playing throughout the day.

Food pop-ups have also been teased in the beer garden.
