These are exciting times at Meyer and Marsh, the area’s leading destination for those with a sharp eye for quality and stylish furniture, furnishings and household accessories.

As well as celebrating 10 years at the Hop Pocket shopping village, Meyer and Marsh are delighted to announce the opening a brand-new extension to the shop, which, at 1,000 sq ft, gives the family-run business an extra 20 per cent display space.

Meyer and Marsh was started by Petra Meyer-Davies and is now run by her daughter Tori Dutton,  who has picked up the business reins from Petra, who sadly died in 2020. Tori has worked in the furniture industry for more than 20 years, travelling all over the world sourcing lovely new products for Meyer & Marsh as well as the day to day running of the shop.

Tori said: “This new space allows us to display even more items, more sofas, dining room furniture and more fabrics, too. It means we can showcase a more diverse range of items.

“We have more than 20 different sofa ranges. What these two extra rooms allows us to do is created what we call ‘inspirational room sets’, where we can showcase different items alongside each other to bring out the best of each item and offer a visual representation of how everything can look in the home.

“For example, we can display a sofa with different soft furnishings alongside a rug and a coffee table using different lamps and lighting to create an inspirational room setting.

“We are particularly proud to fly the flag for British manufactures, with most of our sofas made here in the UK. Our furniture is designed to be comfortable, functional and durable, with a huge range of family and pet-friendly fabrics, in lots of colour options.

“Our passion lies in modern, timeless furnishings and interior décor with just a hint of the countryside.”

While the new display rooms allow Tori and her team to offer a more detailed in-shop experience, that doesn’t mean they have abandoned those core ideals on which Meyer and Marsh has built its well-deserved reputation for providing quality customer service.

“We can send out samples of our extensive range of fabrics to allow customers to see if they will work in their homes, and we can also visit a customer, within a certain distance, to measure up the rooms, too,” said Tori.

Another thing going in Meyer and Marsh’s favour is the location. For those unfamiliar with the Hop Pocket shopping village, this shopping destination is a bastion of local, independent shops and the perfect spot for Meyer and Marsh. This rural retail park has a food hall and restaurant and plenty of free parking, ensuring that a visit to Meyer and Marsh is as relaxed as it possibly can be.
