A MUCH-LOVED charity coffee shop is to close in Hereford today (Friday).
Confirming the news on its Facebook page, St Michael's Hospice said the Whitecross Road venue will shut at 2pm, adding that it wanted to thank everyone who visited and supported it over the past few years.
"Unfortunately, since it opened in 2019 the coffee shop has been struggling to cover its costs and is operating at a loss," reads a post.

"After having to close during the pandemic, we hoped the coffee shop would recover but we have not been able to attract enough customers to make opening viable.
"We appreciate the coffee shop is also there to serve the community but the financial pressures have now become too significant to continue. It's been a tough and sad decision and we thank you and everyone else for their amazing support."
St Michael's Hospice said that the space will be transformed into an extension of the main shop. The charity's nearest coffee shop is in Leominster, based at Station Yard, off Worcester Road.
