SCHOOLS in Herefordshire have announce they are closing early today (March 8) due to snow.

A Met Office weather warning for snow and ice is in force for Herefordshire this morning.

And, with snow falling across the county, some schools have made the decision to close.

We will be keeping this list updated through the day as closures are announced.

School closures:

Fairfield High School: Fairfield High School closed at 1pm today due to the worsening weather. The school is aiming to be open as normal tomorrow but will update families in the morning via their social media, website, and email.

Kingstone High School and Kingstone and Thruxton Primary School will be closed at 1.30pm today due to weather conditions affecting transport and staffing.

Llangrove CE Academy, Llangrove: closing at 12 noon as the snow is now falling heavier and settling on the road.

Lady Hawkins' School, Kington: Closing today at 1pm due to heavy snowfall forecast laster today.

Longtown Community Primary School: closed from midday on March 8 due to adverse weather conditions. Please arrange to collect your children as soon as possible.

Michaelchurch Escley Primary School is closed from midday on Wednesday 8th March due to dangerous road conditions. Please arrange to collect your children as soon as possible.

Peterchurch Primary School: Closed at 1pm due to snow

The Steiner Academy will close at 3.30pm today to ensure staff and pupils can safely return home in the adverse weather conditions

St Joseph's RC Primary School, Ross-on-Wye: closing at 12 noon due to snow.
