A HEREFORD woman has been sent for trial after denying being in charge of a vehicle while over the limit in a Hereford car park.

Claire Phillips entered a not guilty plea to one count of being in charge of a vehicle while over the alcohol limit when she appeared before magistrates in Hereford in February.

The court heard from Crown Proesecution Service prosecutor Eleanor Peart that the 39-year-old is accused of being in charge of a Ford Fiesta in Hereford's Eign Street Aldi car park after consuming so much alcohol that the amount in her breath, namely 43 microgrammes in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeded the legal limit of 35 microgrammes on January 13.

The case was sent for trial and Phillips, of Pomona Place, Hereford, was released on unconditional bail ahead of her next hearing.

She will appear before magistrates in Hereford next for trial on March 27.
